Metro Commandos AAU Club

The Metro Commandos is a 501c (3) non-profit youth basketball organization for male athletes located in Columbia, S.C. The club is a registered organization with the Amateur Athletic Union and participates in AAU, USBA, NTBA, Teammates, KB Sports and AlwaysLive sanctioned tournaments.
Our founder, Coach Rashad Johnson wanted to build an organization based on discipline, basketball fundamentals and athletes who desire to be GREAT, not just good. We began tournament play in the spring 2016 season with 11U/5th grade and 14U/8th grade teams in competition. Before the 2017 season Coach Johnson and family relocated and Coach Terry took over as team President and administrator.

For the 2024 season we have 3 teams: 15U, 16U, and Varsity (Juniors/Seniors).

Our organization's goal is to mold young men into great leaders on the court, in the classroom and in the community. Our focus is on creating student athletes that will be successful in any walk of life. We teach the fundamental skills while instilling the values of hard work, teamwork and positive attitudes in our athletes.
